At No Limits Taekwondo, you’ll find more than personalized, inclusive instruction and world-class taekwondo courses. You’ll also work with an instructor who is passionate about martial arts and has honed his taekwondo skills over many years without losing the excitement and love for the sport.
Master William Brevard is a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo and has taught for many years. He taught class alongside other masters until the COVID-19 pandemic caused many schools, including his previous school, to close. That school and master moved to a different location, and Master William finally embarked on his long-held dream of having his own school.
There are many reasons why Master William chose the name No Limits for his new school. One of the most important factors was to let his existing and prospective students know that taekwondo can be for anyone who wants to learn—all you need is the desire to know more. Master William has since worked with students of all ages and tailored his teaching approach to ensure that students can maximize their potential, no matter where they are in life.

Begin Your Taekwondo Journey at Any Age
Like many, Master William has had an interest in martial arts since he was a child. When he reached his early 20s, he enrolled in taekwondo classes for the first time at the age of 21 and was hooked. One day, he visited a small school near his job in Stanton and began taekwondo lessons.
Achieving a Black Belt in Taekwondo
But William’s path to black belt wasn’t simple or fast. In fact, he would go through the white, yellow, orange, and purple belts a total of four times before progressing in his taekwondo journey. After many restarts and gaps during life events and changes, William finally achieved his black belt more than a decade after starting his first official taekwondo class.
Since finally getting his black belt in taekwondo, William has continued to pursue the sport while teaching others. He began assisting and guiding students as a first-degree black belt about 13 years ago.
“I apparently was born to teach,” explains Master William. “It is something that comes to me. I enjoy helping others achieve a goal or learn something they didn’t already know or know well. Seeing their improvement is the blessing that comes with teaching.”
Once a Blackbelt, Always a Blackbelt
While teaching, he continued to advance and master both new and familiar skills and is currently a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo. He plans to test for the fifth degree soon when he can find room in his busy schedule for the time commitment.
In the meantime, he is guiding his current students toward their goals. In the past six months, Master William has promoted one current student to black belt and is helping two more students prepare for their upcoming black belt testing in early 2024.
Favorite Taekwondo Forms and Moves
There are many forms, also called poomsae, and individual moves in taekwondo. Even simple movements can be effective in a sparring competition or fight if the student learns to perform them with precision.
Every student eventually develops a preference for certain movements, and Master William is no exception. He considers the standing side kick his most devastating and powerful move. Standing side kick is a favorite because he has perfected the ability to unleash it even at extremely close range and with lightning speed.
Another go-to taekwondo kick he’s worked hard on over the years is a flying side kick to spinning back kick combination. At well over six feet, Master William is often much bigger than other black belts in classes and competitions. Many sparring partners and competitors have underestimated his speed and agility, which he still maintains today. His students often discover—or rediscover—this fatal speed when facing their teacher as a sparring partner in class.
What to Know About No Limits Taekwondo
Master William’s journey to taekwondo black belt and beyond was far from straightforward, and he brings this understanding to his teaching. In addition, he ensures that students fully understand each movement and form before progressing to the next skill. Building a solid taekwondo foundation is essential to mastering the forms.
Because he worked so hard to achieve his own black belt goals, Master William is able to apply seemingly unending patience when guiding students. From students as young as four to well into their forties and beyond, he makes taekwondo accessible and enjoyable.
